IMPORTANT AGM ANNOUNCEMENT

Te Runanga a Rangitane o Wairau would like to assure its members that reports of a cancellation of the AGM this weekend on social media and print media are incorrect. An investigation by our office has revealed that the Marlborough Express may have been duped.

A reminder notice from our office regarding the AGM was accepted on the 30th of November by the Marlborough Express. That notice was then amended by the Marlborough Express on the advice of a person who claimed to be acting on behalf of the Trustees.

That original ad was then amended (to postpone) without reference to our office who originally placed the advertisement. That is both careless and unprofessional conduct on behalf of the Marlborough Express.

The legal position is that the current Trustees do not have sufficient numbers at this time to make up the quorum of 4 people. This the number required to make any changes to decisions made earlier this month.

Only a full quorum of Trustees can rescind the motion to hold the AGM this coming Sunday. That quorum will not be available until the results of the impending ballots are know. That is unlikely to be before Xmas.

This means quite simply that the AGM will still take place at Ukaipo on the 4th of December 2016 , commencing at 1030am.
